Sarathkumar & Radhika shift to cosy home, bid farewell to ECR mansion

Chennai, Sep 11: Actor-politician Sarathkumar has revealed why he and wife Radhika Sarathkumar decided to move out of their sprawling ECR bungalow in Chennai. In a candid chat with Cineulagam, he said managing the 15,000-square-foot home had become increasingly challenging.

“With seven doors, securing the house daily was cumbersome. Maintaining such a large property would require at least 15 servants, which wasn’t practical,” Sarathkumar explained. The couple has now relocated to a smaller, more manageable residence in Alwarpet.

In an earlier interview with Behindwoods, Sarathkumar shared that the bungalow, built 30 years ago, was personally designed by him with a unique octagonal shape. The property included a conference room and a dedicated meeting space. A standout feature was a collage wall created by his son, showcasing legendary Tamil cinema icons like MGR and Sivaji Ganesan alongside international stars including Roger Moore, Jackie Chan, and Errol Flynn.

Sarathkumar married Radhika in 2001. He has two daughters from a previous marriage and one son with Radhika.

On the work front, Sarathkumar was last seen in the critically acclaimed family drama 3BHK, starring Devayani, Siddarth, and Meetha Reghukumar, which explores a family’s heartfelt journey to build a home of their own.
