Sullia, Sep 18: In a dramatic turn of events, accused in a murder case reported in Palakkad, Kerala, escaped in filmy style through the Sampaje road in Sullia on the evening of Wednesday September 17.
The accused, who were traveling in their vehicle from Madikeri towards Sullia, came under the radar of Kerala police. Acting on this information, Kerala police had laid a trap near Kallugundi outpost to apprehend them. However, sensing the police presence, the accused sped away near Kallugundi petrol pump, skilfully evading the officers, and headed back towards Madikeri at high speed.
Meanwhile, locals had gathered on the bridge at Devarakolli after learning of the chase. Realizing this too, the accused abandoned their car at Devarakolli and escaped on foot through a forest route, police sources said.
