Sexual assault on minor: Case registered in Dharmasthala after video surfaces

Beltangady, Sep 18: A case has been registered under the POCSO Act after a video revealing sexual assault on a minor came to light in Dharmasthala police station limits.

Police said that on September 18, 2025, the complainant, a resident under Dharmasthala station limits, received a video on WhatsApp from an acquaintance. The video allegedly showed the complainant’s minor son being subjected to sexual assault.

Based on the complaint, Dharmasthala police registered a case under Crime No. 64/2025, sections 4, 13, 14, and 15 of the POCSO Act, 2012, and section 67(b) of the IT Act. The accused has been taken into custody, and investigations are in progress.
