Mangaluru, Sep 21: The Vishwa Bannanje Namana programme, jointly organised by Bannanje Govindacharya Pratishthana, Bengaluru, Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mangaladevi, Bahuvachanam Puttur and Jilla Kannada Sahitya Parishad, Mangaluru was held on September 21 at Sri Ramakrishna Math, Mangaladevi.

The event was presided over by Swami Jitakamananda, president of Sri Ramakrishna Math. The programme received blessings from Charukeerthi Bhattaraka Swamiji of Jain Math, Moodbidri, and was inaugurated by Vedavyasa Acharya Shrishanandaru, justice of High Court of Karnataka. Eminent astrologer Jyotishi Pavanje Vasudev Bhat and Dharmadarshi Harikrishna Punaruru were also present on the occasion.

The highlight of the programme was the ‘Bannanje Gaurava Sanmana’ conferred on Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor of Srinivas University, in recognition of his immense contributions to the field of education and social service. The felicitation was presented by Vedavyasa Acharya Shrishanandaru.

The dignitaries lauded Dr Raghavendra Rao’s visionary leadership in building Srinivas University into a reputed institution and acknowledged his remarkable role in promoting educational and cultural development in the region.
