Mumbai, Sep 21: Veteran actor Anupam Kher is showering praise on Gen Z sensation Ahaan Panday, calling him a promising new face in the “magical world of madness called cinema.” On Sunday, Kher shared a cheerful photo with the young actor on Instagram, declaring that despite the age difference, there’s no generation gap between them.

In the snapshot, both actors beam for the camera—Kher in his signature formal attire with a blazer, while Ahaan keeps it casual in a hoodie. But the real highlight was Kher’s heartfelt caption, where he extended a warm, almost mentor-like welcome to the debutant.

“NO GENERATION GAP HERE!” Kher wrote. “Welcome #AhaanPandey to this wonderful jungle of creativity, fun, success, failure, blood rush, excitements, disappointments, joy rides, awards, rewards and lots of ups and downs. Ahaan Panday recently made his big-screen debut alongside Aneet Padda in Saiyaara, a romantic drama that has taken the box office by storm. With an opening collection of Rs 21.5 crore in India, the film is being compared to iconic debuts like Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak—movies that defined generations with their breakout stars.

Director Mohit Suri, who helmed Saiyaara, recently confessed that the film’s overwhelming success has consumed his time to such an extent that his wife, actress Udita Goswami, has had to compete for his attention. He admitted to spending most evenings tracking box office numbers and audience turnout, calling it a “nice problem to have.”

With Saiyaara now streaming on Netflix, Ahaan Panday’s star continues to rise, and with seasoned actors like Anupam Kher cheering him on, he seems well on his way to carving out a space of his own in Bollywood.
