Bengaluru, Sep 25: Actor Darshan, accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, has filed a discharge application claiming that he is innocent and has been falsely implicated.

Following the cancellation of his bail, Darshan is once again lodged in jail. The trial in the murder case began today, with Darshan and his associates appearing before the sessions court via video conference from Parappana Agrahara prison.

Darshan’s lawyers submitted a plea seeking that he be discharged from the case. The application reportedly states, “I am innocent. All the evidence collected against me is fabricated. I have no role in the Renukaswamy murder case, hence I should be discharged.”

The court is expected to hear the plea later today. Interestingly, a few days ago, two other accused, Deepak and Pradush, had also filed similar pleas which were dismissed by the court. Despite this, Darshan, listed as Accused No. 2, has now moved for discharge, surprising many.

The hearing on the discharge petition is scheduled to take place at 3 pm in the sessions court, ahead of the commencement of the trial proceedings.
