Mangaluru, Sep 26: The fourth edition of Kudla’s Pili Parba competition, organized by Kudla Cultural Foundation under the guidance of former MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, will be inaugurated on September 30 at 9.30 am at Central Maidan, announced MLA D Vedavyas Kamath.
Addressing the press meet, he said that the grand competition will begin at 10 am on a magnificent stage, featuring 10 of the most popular tiger dance troupes of the coastal region. Each troupe will make a grand entry through a vibrant procession before performing for 20 minutes. Throwing the ‘akkimudi’ (bundle of rice stalks) will be mandatory, and the event will include performances by ‘kari hulis’, ‘mari hulis’, traditional bands, and dharani mandalas, making the contest rich in variety.

Six judges will evaluate the competition, with four presents on stage and two serving as third umpires by reviewing video footage. Every performance—from entry to exit—will be recorded, and results will be declared only after replay checks if necessary. The judges’ decisions will be final.
