Trump claims ‘Productive’ Gaza talks amid Middle East tensions

Daijiworld Media Network – New York

New York, Sep 27: US President Donald Trump on Saturday took to Truth Social to share updates on ongoing negotiations concerning Gaza, describing them as ‘very inspired’ and ‘productive.’ He said the “intense” discussions have been ongoing for four days and will continue as long as necessary to achieve a successful agreement.

Trump noted that all regional countries are involved, with Israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu being kept fully informed. He also stated that Hamas is “very much aware” of the talks. The US President highlighted the “greater deal of goodwill and enthusiasm for coming to a consensus than I have ever seen before” and emphasized the urgency of securing hostages and achieving a “PERMANENT AND LONGLASTING PEACE.”

The announcement follows Trump’s earlier public opposition to Israeli plans to annex the West Bank. His stance came amid heightened tensions at the UN General Assembly, where a majority of delegates walked out as Netanyahu prepared to speak. Netanyahu described the creation of a Palestinian state as “national suicide” during the UN High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine, which included discussions on a two-state solution. Countries such as the UK, France, and Australia voiced support for Palestine’s recognition.

Trump’s comments underscore US involvement in brokering a resolution to the ongoing Gaza crisis and efforts to navigate complex regional dynamics.
