Hyderabad, Sep 27: Around 1,000 residents in low-lying areas of Hyderabad were shifted to relief camps after the Musi river swelled due to heavy rains across the city and other parts of Telangana, officials said on Saturday.
The evacuees, moved late Friday, are being provided with food and essential supplies. Floodwaters also entered the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), a major transport hub, forcing authorities to suspend bus services temporarily. Passengers waiting at the complex were safely relocated.

Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) Managing Director V C Sajjanar confirmed that buses originating from MGBS are now operating from alternative locations across the city and urged passengers to avoid the bus station until floodwaters recede.
Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who reviewed the situation, instructed officials to closely monitor all areas along the Musi river and evacuate residents from low-lying localities as needed.
The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre of the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall at isolated places in several districts, along with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across Telangana on September 27.
