Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29: Dr Raju Narayana Swamy, one of India’s most respected IAS officers, has built a career defined by honesty, courage, and service. Born in 1968 in Thiruvananthapuram to academic parents, his brilliance was evident early—securing top ranks in school and excelling at IIT Madras with a stellar CGPA. Though offered a scholarship at MIT, he chose the Indian Administrative Service, topping the 1991 Civil Services Examination.
From the start, Dr Swamy stood out for his fearless fight against corruption. He exposed illegal land deals, challenged bureaucratic malpractice, and held powerful individuals accountable—even when it meant being transferred 22 times in 27 years. One high-profile case, which led to the resignation of a minister, cemented his image as a symbol of integrity in governance.

Beyond administration, Dr Swamy is a prolific writer with 34 books in Malayalam, covering travel, science, and children’s literature. His works have won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and other honours, making him a celebrated figure in literature as well.
An eternal learner, he holds multiple advanced degrees, including a PhD and a Master’s in Intellectual Property Law, along with diplomas in law and environmental studies. Today, as principal secretary to the government of Kerala, he continues to inspire with his blend of knowledge, resilience, and uncompromising integrity.
Dr Raju Narayana Swamy’s journey proves that true success lies not in power or position, but in standing by one’s principles—no matter the cost.
