Bengaluru, Sep 30: In a major relief for Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, the high court has stayed the externment order issued against him from Dakshina Kannada district to Manvi taluk of Raichur for a period of one year. Thimarodi had approached the high court seeking a stay, and now he has secured a temporary victory.
The court has directed that no coercive action be taken against him until October 8. The externment order had been issued by Puttur assistant commissioner Stella Varghese. Following the order, Thimarodi had gone missing by switching off his phone. With the high court ruling now in his favour, he has managed to escape one hurdle for the time being.

Meanwhile, Thimarodi has also been served three notices in connection with the alleged possession of illegal weapons at his residence. However, he failed to appear for inquiry on all three occasions. He has now filed an anticipatory bail application in the Mangaluru sessions court.
