Bengaluru, Sep 30: To clear the heavy rush of passengers during the upcoming Dasara holidays, the Southern Railway (Palakkad Division) and the South Western Railway (SWR) have announced special train services between Bengaluru, Mangaluru, and Ernakulam.
According to Southern Railway, Train No. 06217 Yeshwantpur Junction – Mangaluru Junction Festival Special Express will depart Yeshwantpur on October 2 at 11.55 pm and reach Mangaluru at 11.15 am the following day. In the return direction, Train No. 06218 will leave Mangaluru at 2.35 pm on October 3 and arrive at Yeshwantpur at 11.30 pm the same day. The train will have two AC two-tier, three AC three-tier, 11 sleeper class, four general second-class coaches, and two Divyangjan-friendly luggage cum brake vans.

As announced earlier, Train No. 06257 Yeshwantpur – Mangaluru Junction Express Special will depart Yeshwantpur on September 30 at 11.55 pm and reach Mangaluru at 11.15 am the next day, while the return service, Train No. 06258, will leave Mangaluru at 2.35 pm on October 1 and reach Yeshwantpur at 11.30 pm. The train will halt at Kunigal, Channarayapatna, Hassan, Sakleshpur, Subrahmanya Road, Kabakaputtur, and Bantawala in both directions.
Additionally, SWR has announced a service to Kerala. Train No. 06147 Ernakulam Junction – Bengaluru Cantonment Special will depart Ernakulam at 4.20 pm on October 5 and reach Bengaluru at 8.15 am the next day. The return service, Train No. 06148, will leave Bengaluru Cantonment at 10.10 pm on September 29 and October 6, arriving at Ernakulam at 10 am on Tuesday. Stoppages include Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Bangarapet, Whitefield, and KR Puram.
Meanwhile, due to track maintenance works in Thiruvananthapuram division, a few services will face regulation. Train No. 16603 Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Maveli Express will be delayed by 35 minutes on October 17, 22, 24, and 26.
Similarly, Train No. 16348 Mangaluru Central – Thiruvananthapuram Central Express will be delayed by 40 minutes on October 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 30 and November 3.
Railway authorities have appealed to passengers to make travel arrangements accordingly.
