Mumbai, Oct 2: Bollywood star Alia Bhatt, now a part of the iconic Kapoor film dynasty through her marriage to Ranbir Kapoor, revealed that the weight of joining such a storied cinematic legacy never really struck her until recently.
Speaking on the new streaming chat show Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle, Alia shared that her relationship with Ranbir felt deeply personal and emotional from the beginning, leaving little room for thoughts about his family’s film heritage.
“When you’re so internally into it, when the relationships are so personal, you don't really look at it from a professional perspective, about which legacy you're going into,” she explained. “That only comes much later. When we celebrated 100 years of Raj Kapoor, I thought, ‘Oh my God, Raj Kapoor is Raha's great-grandfather.’ That connection hit me only then.”
The actress also touched upon her father Mahesh Bhatt’s rare involvement in her romantic life, recalling that they had spoken just once about her being in love. “That was the one and only time we spoke about being in love,” she noted.
Alia and Ranbir, who tied the knot in 2022, welcomed their daughter Raha Kapoor on November 6 the same year.
Her appearance on Two Much with Kajol and Twinkle offered a personal, off-script insight into her life beyond the screen. The chat show, hosted by Kajol and Twinkle Khanna, has been praised for its spontaneous and unscripted format, where Bollywood celebrities let their guard down in humorous, emotional, and occasionally chaotic conversations.
The show’s guest list promises a star-studded lineup, with glimpses of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Varun Dhawan, Karan Johar, and others teased in the trailer. The premiere episode featured both Salman and Aamir, setting the tone for what’s expected to be one of the most candid Bollywood talk shows in recent memory.
