Puttur: AC Finds No Truth in MLA’s Complaint

Puttur, Feb 11: Relating to a complaint filed by local MLA, Mallika Prasad, against the executive officer of Lord Mahalingeshwara Temple here, district assistant commissioner (AC) of the department of Hindu religious endowments department has reported that the executive officer is not guilty of dereliction of duty as alleged.

The MLA had complained that a person named Sebastian living near the temple had been interfering in the land owned by the temple. In his report, he suggested the individual who wants road to their homes, to find an alternative route, as conservation of temple property is of paramount importance, and also as development activities are being undertaken there. 

During inquiry, Sebastian himself gave a written undertaking in stamp paper, stressing that he does not want to create problems in temple property, but had just requested not to do away with the road leading to his home located on temple land. The AC said that Sebastian cannot be allowed entry through the temple property, and hence asked him to explore alternatives.
