Udupi, Oct 3: The ‘Bhoomi Pooja’ and foundation stone laying ceremony of the new building of Udupi district BJP was held near Gundibail-Kalsanka road Udupi, on October 3.
BJP national general Secretary B L Santhosh, along with MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLAs and other party leaders performed the Bhoomi Pooja ritual.
Following the ritual a formal event was held, which was inaugurated by B L Santhosh by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
B L Santhosh, BJP national general secretary, said, “An office truly becomes ours only when it stands on our own land. Though the present office has all the necessary facilities, since it is not on our own land, a new office is being constructed. Many have contributed to bringing the District BJP to this stage. This will be the fifth office, and with every office our party has grown. Because the party has expanded, we now require our own permanent office. There is a saying, if you want to walk fast, walk alone, if you want to walk far, walk together. Our party has always believed in walking together. Udupi district was not built by MLAs alone, and we must pass on this legacy to the next generation. Udupi has been a model in building associations, while Uttara Kannada is even further ahead, this office should serve as a lesson for all. It must be a place where people, when they feel their work cannot be done in a government office, can find solutions here. The Udupi office should stand as the answer for every individual.”
Kota Srinivas Poojary, MP, said, “The earlier offices were not truly ours, but this new office can rightly be called our own. With the dedicated efforts of our leaders and party workers, Udupi has become the only district in the state where all five MLAs represent the BJP. The Udupi district BJP has demonstrated its organizational strength to the entire state.”
Kuthyaru Naveen Shetty, president of Udupi District BJP, in his introductory note said, “Today marks a historic day for our district BJP. Until now, the BJP district office has functioned from various rented buildings, but in its fifth relocation, it now stands on our own land with the support of the Union government and our leaders. The land was purchased during the tenure of Kuilady Suresh Nayak, and with the blueprint finalised, today we have performed the foundation stone laying ritual. Just as new offices are being built in every district, ours too will soon have a fully equipped office, with accommodation rooms, workspaces, an auditorium, a conference hall, and all necessary facilities.”
Prize distribution of the competition held on the occasion of Rani Abbakka Jayathi was held on this occasion. Dinakar Heroor, secretary welcomed the gathering.
