Kasargod, Feb 12: The police here have arrested two persons with regard to assaulting the police in Prathap Nagara, Uppala here.
Appi alias Rafiq (25) of Prathap Nagara and Faizal (28) of Shanthiguri are the arrestes. The prime accused in the incident Acchu alias Ashfaq was arrested by the police yesterday. The incident took place on January 23 morning.
Police had a tip off that accused of a theft case were sheltered at a lodge in Prathap Nagara and raid operation was carried out. At that time a team countered with police and assaulted the policemen. A police who was driving the jeep, Vijayan was seriously injured in the incident. He is a policeman in Manjeshwar police station. The team also attempted to assault sub-inspector Rajesh and constable Ismail.
