Mumbai, Oct 9: A high-speed Porsche car was severely damaged and its driver critically injured after the vehicle rammed into a divider on the Western Express Highway late on Wednesday night.
According to eyewitnesses, the Porsche was reportedly racing alongside a BMW moments before the crash. The luxury car lost control at high speed and smashed into the central divider, leaving the front portion completely mangled.

Police and emergency services rushed to the spot soon after the accident and shifted the injured driver to a nearby hospital. His condition is said to be serious.
While initial reports suggest that the Porsche and BMW may have been involved in a street race, officials have not yet confirmed the claim. “We are verifying CCTV footage and statements from witnesses to determine the cause of the accident,” said a police source.
Authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident. The damaged vehicle has been towed from the scene, and further investigation is underway to ascertain whether reckless or competitive driving led to the mishap.
The crash has once again raised concerns about the growing menace of high-speed racing on Mumbai’s arterial roads during late-night hours.
