Hyderabad, Oct 9: The team of the upcoming Telugu film Mass Jathara, starring Ravi Teja and Sreeleela, has addressed the criticism surrounding the song ‘Ole Ole’, which faced backlash on social media for allegedly containing abusive and problematic lyrics.

Director Bhanu Bhogavarapu, along with the film’s lead actors, clarified that the criticism stems from a misunderstanding of the song’s cultural and situational context. Speaking to host Suma, Bhogavarapu said, “In our villages, during local fests, people narrate cheeky stories that might sound abusive. But in reality, they are not abusive.” He added that the song reflects rustic humour and the festive energy of village celebrations and is intended purely for entertainment with a local flavour.

Lead actress Sreeleela supported the director and co-star, stating, “Those lines are apt for the moment.” She emphasized that the lyrics align perfectly with the story’s tone and the characters’ emotions. She also expressed her comfort and confidence while performing scenes alongside Ravi Teja.

Ravi Teja urged audiences to consider the full context of the song, noting that reactions are often based only on the opening lines. He remarked, “Some English words people use every day are far worse. Context transforms perception, and the fun in the full sequence is what matters.”

Mass Jathara, directed by Bhanu Bhogavarapu, is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 31, and the team has requested viewers to reserve judgment until they experience the complete film.
