Mumbai: Goregaon Karnataka Sangh Organizes ‘Vicharabharati Sammelan’

Mumbai, Feb 13: Goregaon Karnataka Sangh, that has been serving the community for five decades, organized the 14th Goregaon Vicharabharati Sammelan at Durgadevi Saraf Trust Auditorium, S V Road, Malad (West), on Sunday February 12.

Metro-based Sai Care Logistics Limited managing director and sponsor of Sammelan Surendra A Poojary inaugurated the event which was themed on ‘Kannada on Crossroads–One Cultural Seminar’.

In his inaugural address, Poojary said that the women play a key role in disciplining the families and can collectively contribute to social welfare activities. He added that the Sammelan is essential in this regard.

Litterateur and scholar Dr Rehamat Tarikere presided over the programme.

Goregaon Karnataka Sangh president G T Acharya released ‘Mumbelaku’, the annual special issue, during the programme.

G T Acharya welcomed the gathering. Honorary chief secretary Sacchindra K Kotian proposed the vote of thanks while Sujata V Kotian compered the cultural programme.

Bharat Co-operative Bank (Mumbai) Limited assistant general manager Nityanand D Kotian inaugurated the seminar.

Social activist Usha G Acharya was the chief guest during the valedictory function held on Sunday evening.

Dr Rehmat Tarikere delivered the valedictory address. Sacchindra K Kotian compered the programme.

‘Sri Krishna Sandana’ Yakshagana Taalamaddale was held by Padmaja P Mannoor, and was sponsored by K K Shetty as part of the entertainment programme.
