Mumbai, Oct 13: The Shiv Sena (UBT) on Monday leveled serious allegations against the BJP-led MahaYuti government in Maharashtra, claiming it has quietly scrapped the ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala’ (CM My School, Beautiful School) scheme—an initiative launched during Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s tenure to modernize and beautify schools across the state.
Ambadas Danve, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and former Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, accused Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of deliberately sidelining programmes associated with Shinde. He suggested the move was part of an internal power play within the ruling coalition.

“Is this part of a larger plan to cut down an ally’s influence?” Danve asked, hinting at growing friction between the BJP and Shinde-led Shiv Sena faction. He took a veiled swipe at Shinde, suggesting he has remained silent on the issue while continuing to support projects like the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train, heavily backed by the BJP.
The ‘Mukhyamantri Majhi Shala, Sundar Shala’ scheme, launched on December 5, 2023, aimed to transform school infrastructure by encouraging innovation and participation at the grassroots level. It involved state-wide competitions for schools, with lakhs of rupees in cash prizes awarded at the taluka, district, and state levels. The initiative was widely appreciated by educators, students, and parents alike.
Despite the scheme’s popularity and reach, Danve said it has not been relaunched this academic year. “It had successfully reached every corner of the state in two phases. Yet, the government has made no effort to restart it,” he said.
Danve also alleged that this is not an isolated instance. He claimed that several other initiatives started under Shinde’s leadership have been quietly shelved, including:
• Anandacha Shidha, which offered subsidized festival kits
• Cleanliness Monitor
• One State, One Uniform
• One Page, One Book
• Rs 1 Crop Insurance
• Apprenticeship for Beloved Brothers
• Yojana Doot
• Mukhyamantri Tirtha Darshan Yojana (a pilgrimage visit scheme)
“These were not just schemes on paper — they delivered visible results and brought real benefits to citizens,” Danve argued. “Yet, they are being rolled back not because they failed, but because of petty political calculations.”
He further warned that the Shiv Sena (UBT) would take this issue to the public and expose how the Fadnavis-led government is undermining its own coalition partners for political leverage.
As the MahaYuti alliance heads toward the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under increasing internal strain, these allegations point to widening cracks within the ruling coalition.
