Bengaluru, Oct 20: Union Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi announced that Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has approved a new super-fast train connecting Bengaluru and Mumbai, fulfilling a long-standing demand from Karnataka.
“Heartfelt thanks to the central government on behalf of the people of Karnataka for approving the long-standing demand for a Bengaluru-Mumbai super-fast train,” Joshi posted on X.

The new train will run via Tumakuru, Davanagere, Haveri, Hubballi-Dharwad, and Belagavi, providing better connectivity to regions in central Karnataka. Currently, the Udyan Express is the only direct super-fast train connecting Bengaluru and Mumbai via the Guntakal-Solapur route.
For the past three decades, passengers have been demanding an additional train through Karnataka’s central regions to enhance access to Mumbai, the commercial capital. The timetable for the new service is expected to be released in the coming days, Joshi added.
