Patna, Oct 21: Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Monday criticised the opposition Mahagathbandhan, questioning its ability to govern Bihar when it was struggling to manage its own alliance partners.
Addressing a public rally, Paswan praised the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) for finalising its seat-sharing arrangement on time, calling it a “very positive message” for the voters ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections. “The atmosphere is one-sided and we will perform beyond expectations. The Mahagathbandhan, unable to keep its flock together, cannot take care of the state. The people of Bihar are questioning their credibility,” he said.

He added, “NDA completed seat-sharing on time, which has boosted public confidence. The leaders of NDA will celebrate Diwali again on November 14,” referring to the election result day.
Earlier in the day, Paswan attended the NDA nomination and blessings rally for LJP(R) candidate Uday Singh Yadav, alongside Union Minister Nityanand Rai and Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal. He reiterated the alliance’s vision to transform Bihar through industrial growth, better education, and improved healthcare.
“Our Prime Minister and Chief Minister have a vision to empower every citizen. Over the next five years, we will create a golden history for Bihar — from industrialisation to education and health — ensuring that no Bihari has to migrate. I won’t rest until Bihar and Biharis come first,” Paswan asserted.
Taking a jibe at the opposition’s internal seat-sharing rifts, Paswan dismissed the concept of a “friendly contest” within the INDI alliance. “There is no such thing as a friendly fight in politics. Either you are friends or you’re fighting — this terminology is misleading,” he told reporters in Patna.
Polling for the Bihar Assembly elections will take place on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14.
