Mangaluru: Rowdy sheeter, another booked for extortion attempt on shop owner in Bajpe

Mangaluru, Oct 24: A case of extortion has been registered at the Bajpe police station after a rowdy sheeter allegedly threatened a shop owner to demand money.

The accused have been identified as Prasanth, also known as Pachu, who is a rowdy sheeter and an accused in the Fazil murder case, and Ashwith.

The victim, Damodar, owner of a cracker shop in Bajpe, reported that the accused approached him on October 22, and threatened him to commit extortion. Fearing for his safety, Damodar filed a complaint after being assured protection by the police.

The accused are currently absconding, and police have initiated investigations to apprehend them.
