Bahrain, Oct 24: The countdown has begun for the fifth anniversary celebration of Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation, an organization founded under the guidance of renowned Bhagavatha Yakshadhruva Patla Satish Shetty for the welfare of distressed, underprivileged, and ailing Yakshagana artistes. With hundreds of active units in India and abroad, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabia chapters of the foundation are all set to celebrate this milestone with great grandeur.
The event, titled Pancha Varshika Patla Yaksha Vaibhava 2025, will be held on Friday, October 31, starting at 2 pm, at the Kannada Bhavana Auditorium under the aegis of Kannada Sangha Bahrain. The highlight of the celebration will be the staging of the Yakshagana episode ‘Shri Devi Mahatme’, featuring eminent artistes from coastal Karnataka alongside talented performers from the island nation.









The Yakshagana performance will be held under the chairmanship of Deepak Pejavar, president of the Yakshadhruva Patla Foundation Bahrain-Saudi unit. The foundation’s founder and celebrated Bhagavatha, Yakshadhruva Patla Satish Shetty, will grace the occasion and enthrall the audience with his captivating voice and traditional narration.
The performance will also feature some of Yakshagana’s distinguished artistes, including Divakara Rai, Manish Patali, Manya Santosh, Narendra Suvarna, Suraj Acharya, Mayur Naik, and Shivananda Shetty Perla, who will showcase their exceptional talents in both the Himmela (background music) and Mummela (stage performance) segments. In addition, Yakshagana artistes from Bahrain will also present their performances, adding a special local touch to the event.
The Pancha Varshika Patla Yaksha Vaibhava is expected to be a landmark cultural celebration in the island’s Yakshagana history, uniting artistes and enthusiasts alike. Entry to the event is free for all Yakshagana lovers.
