Sullia man loses lacs in crypto investment scam

Sullia, Oct 25: A man from Keremule village in Sullia has been duped of lacs of rupees in a cryptocurrency investment scam, police said.

The 50-year-old victim reportedly downloaded an app on his mobile and was later contacted via Telegram by a person claiming to be Isha Singh. The accused convinced him to invest in ‘Crypto Currency Investment and Trading’. Trusting the instructions, the victim invested a total of Rs 2.9 lac, only to fall prey to the scam.

A case has been registered at Mangaluru South police station, and the authorities have begun investigating the incident. Police have cautioned citizens to verify investment opportunities and be wary of offers made through apps and online chats.
