Mumbai: Shailaja, Wife of Kannada Litterateur Ravi Ra Anchan Passes Away

Mumbai, Feb 15: Shailaja R Anchan(49), wife of  renowned Kannada litterateur and columnist Ravi Ra Anchan passed away at Hinduja Hospital, here on Tuesday February 14 night, owing to brief illness.

Shailaja was a native of Kankanady in Mangalore city.  She served as a lecturer at Besant Women’s College, Mangalore.  She moved to metro after her marriage with Ravi Ra Anchan.

She was an accomplished musician on Harmonium and table.  She was the former vice-president of Goregaon Karnataka SanghA and a athlete of national repute.

She was a lawyer in Mumbai High Court at the time of her death.  She is survived by her husband Ravi Ra Anchan and two daughters.  The eldest is in final year at Dr A B Shetty Dental College, Mangalore and second daughter is studying is Class VII in the metro.

The last rites of Shailaja was held here on Wednesday February 15.
