Mumbai, Nov 10: Dr Shiva Moodigere has been unanimously elected as the president and Sa Daya (Dayananda Salian) as the honorary general secretary of the Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association (R.), Maharashtra unit for the term 2025-2028. KUWJ is recognised by the Government of Karnataka and is considered the only large and officially recognised organisation of journalists from Karnataka.
N Ravikumar (Telex) the chief election officer of the KUWJ (Karnataka) central committee appointed CA Jagadish B Shetty as the election officer for the Maharashtra unit. As per the instructions of the chief election officer, the entire process of electing the office-bearers and executive committee of the KUWJ Maharashtra unit was conducted in an orderly manner, and the new Maharashtra committee for the next three years has been unanimously elected, informed election officer CA Jagadish Shetty.

The newly elected office-bearers are as follows: Dr Shiva Moodigere (president), Shyam M. Hande (vice president), Sa. Daya (Dayananda Salyan - general secretary), Sadaram N Shetty (treasurer), Vishwanath Poojary Niddodi (joint secretary), Dr Durgappa Y Kotiavar (joint treasurer).
Executive committee members are Rons Bantwal (founder president of KUWJ Maha unit), Gopal Poojary Trasi, Dr G P Kusuma, Dr Dinesh N Shetty Renjal, Ranga S Poojary, Savita S Shetty, Harish Poojary Kokkarne, John Wilson Lobo and state executive committee members are Chandrashekhar R Belchada, Ashok R Devadiga.
Shivananda Tagaduru has been elected as the state president (for 3rd term). The chief election officer of the KWJA central committee, N Ravikumar along with CA Jagadish B Shetty officially released the list of elected office-bearers and executive committee members of both Karnataka and Maharashtra units and extended congratulations to all through their official announcement.
