Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 12: The stage is set for the grand finale of “Kani Kani Kantha 2025”, the popular Konkani storytelling competition, which will be held on Sunday, November 16, at 2:30 pm in Mangaluru. The event will conclude with a closing and prize distribution ceremony at 4:30 pm.

Fr Rupesh Madtha will preside over the ceremony, while noted poet and film director Stany Bela will grace the occasion as the chief guest.

The final round will bring together talented storytellers from Mangaluru, Udupi, Kundapura, and Puttur, who will compete for the coveted top honours.

Launched in 2018 by Naman Ballok Jesu, the Kani Kani Kantha initiative aims to promote the rich heritage of the Konkani language and culture through the art of storytelling.

The competition expanded to Udupi in 2019 and went online in 2021, allowing children from across the world to participate. Since then, Daiji Dubai has partnered in organising the event, adding a global dimension to this unique cultural movement.

Through this initiative, young voices continue to be inspired to share stories that reflect the heart and soul of Konkani tradition.

The organisers have extended a warm invitation to all to attend and be part of this grand celebration of words, wisdom, and wonder.
