Dubai, Nov 16: A monumental new artwork unveiled on the façade of the iconic Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Gate Building has become the highlight of Dubai’s ‘National Month’, paying powerful tribute to the UAE’s Founding Fathers and celebrating the nation’s journey from its historic beginnings to its global future.
Commissioned under the directive of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, the installation stands as a symbol of unity, pride and national identity.

The large-scale artwork, created in collaboration between Brand Dubai and DIFC, honours the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum as part of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign that runs from UAE Flag Day on November 3 to Eid Al Etihad on December 2.
Brand Dubai Director Shaima Al Suwaidi said the creative partnership reflects the nation’s gratitude to the visionary leaders who laid the foundations of the Union. She said the installation narrates the UAE’s remarkable journey of growth and achievement across generations.
Designed by Emirati artist Ahmed BaFadhl, the artwork blends heritage with aspiration. Alongside portraits of the Founding Fathers, it features the Hope Probe, Etihad-SAT, Rashid Rover 2 and other symbols of the UAE’s leap into science and space exploration. Al Suwaidi said the piece embodies values of determination, faith and the ambition that continues to guide the nation.
DIFC COO Alya Al Zarouni said the artwork on the Gate Building mirrors how innovation and economic leadership are rooted in the UAE’s strong national values.
Amina Taher, member of the #ZayedAndRashid campaign committee, noted that such creative initiatives strengthen national identity and help younger generations connect with their heritage while looking toward the future.
Standing 50 metres tall, the installation is part of a wider series of activations organised by Brand Dubai to commemorate the historic Al Khawaneej meeting of the Founding Fathers and to reinforce the unity of Emirati society.
Artist Ahmed BaFadhl, who draws inspiration from his grandfather and the UAE’s landscape, brings together simplicity and imagination through digital artistry, creating works that reflect both emotion and the spirit of the nation.
