Keerthy Suresh reveals six-month lull after ‘Mahanati’ triumph, gears up for ‘Revolver Rita’

Mumbai, Nov 25: Keerthy Suresh, who delivered one of the finest performances of her career in the blockbuster biopic Mahanati, has opened up about an unexpected phase that followed her National Award-winning success.

Despite the film’s critical acclaim and record-breaking reception, the actress revealed that she faced a surprising silence from the industry.

“Would you believe me if I say that after the release of Mahanati, I didn’t get any films for almost six months? No one even came to narrate a script to me,” Keerthy said during a recent press meet, as reported by Reporter Live.

Keerthy added that she chose not to feel let down by the lull.

“I wasn’t disappointed because I knew I hadn’t done anything wrong. I took it positively, thinking people were taking time to create a strong role for me. I used that gap to work on a makeover,” she shared.

Mahanati, directed by Nag Ashwin, saw Keerthy step into the iconic shoes of legendary actress Savitri. The film featured Dulquer Salmaan, Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda in pivotal roles and cemented Keerthy’s place as one of the most promising talents in Indian cinema.

The actress is now set for her next major release Revolver Rita, which hits theatres this weekend. Just days before the premiere, Keerthy unveiled the poster of the film’s second song ‘Danger Mamae’, adding to fans’ excitement.

The film recently received a U/A certificate, signalling that it is suitable for family audiences. The trailer, packed with quirky humour and action, has already raised expectations for the upcoming comedy entertainer slated for release on November 28.
