Sullia: Health check-up camp held at St Brigid’s Church

Sullia, Dec 1: A health check-up camp was organised on November 30 at St Brigid’s Church, Sullia, in association with Father Muller Medical College and the Indian Cancer Society, Mangaluru.

The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Fr Alwyn D’Cunha, parish priest of St Brigid’s Church, who delivered the introductory address and wished success for the camp. Dr Elroy Saldanha, a renowned oncologist from Father Muller Medical College, provided valuable information on cancer and its prevention.

Ranjan, regional coordinator of the Indian Cancer Society; Caroline Smita, associate professor at Father Muller College of Nursing, Mangaluru; Naveen Machado, vice president of the St Brigid’s Church parish council, Sullia; and secretary Julia Crasta were present on the dais.

Sister Antony Mary, headmistress of St Brigid’s Educational Institution, welcomed the gathering. Francis D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks, and Presilla Pinto compered the programme.

Following the inauguration, skilled doctors conducted health check-ups across nine departments. Around 300 people benefited from the camp.
