New Delhi, Dec 2: Tamil Nadu’s Mahipal Singh emerged champion at The Chennai Diamonds 2nd Chennai Open Tenpin Bowling Championships, held at Let’s Bowl, Chennai. The Open Division finals followed the challenging-the-leader format, where second seed Benigopal L. first defeated top seed Mahipal 208–194, pushing the contest into a decisive second game.
Mahipal responded in style, opening with three straight strikes and sealing the title with a 200–168 victory over Benigopal.
In the stepladder round, third seed Anand Babu beat fourth seed Naveen Siddam 222–183 before Benigopal cruised past Anand 223–91 in the semifinals.

Karnataka’s Parvez Ahmed and Kishan R. claimed the Doubles title in a nail-biting finish, edging out Tamil Nadu’s Gurunathan and Soban D. by just two pins (737–735). The final was played on cumulative pinfall over two games, with Parvez and Kishan taking game one by a single pin and sealing the narrow win thanks to a crucial final-frame strike from Kishan in game two.
In the Grade A division, Gurunathan dominated the 8-game masters round, topping the table with 1,556 pins at an average of 194.50. Tamil Nadu’s Anand Babu followed closely with 1,544 pins, while Karnataka’s Sathish A.V. secured third place with 1,485 pins.
In Grade B, Maharashtra’s Mohit Chauhan won the Masters round with 1,471 pins at an average of 183.88. Delhi’s Kushal K.S. finished second with 1,429 pins, and Uttar Pradesh’s Anand Kumar R. placed third with 1,407 pins.
The 12-day championship featured high-intensity competition from around 95 bowlers representing 10 states.
