New York, Dec 5: Veteran journalist Maurice DuBois has announced his departure from CBS Evening News, bringing an end to almost 15 years as one of the network’s prominent news anchors. His final broadcast is scheduled for December 18, marking the conclusion of a distinguished 21-year association with CBS.
DuBois, who joined WCBS-TV in New York in 2004 before rising to national prominence, shared the update through an Instagram post on Thursday, expressing heartfelt gratitude to viewers and colleagues.

“It has been the Honor of a Lifetime… To be welcomed into your homes night after night,” he wrote, adding that he would sign off with “cherished relationships and amazing memories.”
A Long Island native and Northwestern University alumnus, DuBois has helmed major national news coverage, moderated political debates and earned five Emmy Awards during his career.
His exit follows that of co-anchor John Dickerson, who announced in October that he would also step down at the end of 2025. With both senior anchors departing, the network is yet to announce their successors. CBS News has not issued an official comment regarding the transition.
Dickerson, in his farewell note, acknowledged the deep impact of his time with the network.
“I am extremely grateful for all that CBS gave me… I will miss you,” he wrote.
As the newsroom prepares for a major reshuffle in the new year, viewers await clarity on the future leadership of the iconic evening news broadcast.
