Hyderabad, Dec 5: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) here was put on high alert on Friday following a bomb threat received via email targeting Dubai-Hyderabad Emirates flight EK526. The flight, which departed Dubai at 3.51 a.m., landed safely in Hyderabad at 8.30 a.m., with airport authorities immediately activating standard safety protocols, sources said.

The threat email was received at 7.30 a.m. on the airport’s customer support ID. As a precautionary measure, the aircraft was isolated, passengers and baggage were thoroughly screened, sniffer dogs were deployed, and fire engines were kept on standby.

Airport officials confirmed that the protocols were carried out efficiently, ensuring passenger safety without any disruption.

This incident comes a day after RGIA received two similar emails targeting Indigo flights from Madina and Sharjah to Hyderabad. The Madina–Hyderabad flight had to be diverted to Ahmedabad Airport as a precautionary measure. Authorities are investigating the source of these threats and have urged passengers to remain calm while security checks continue.
