BSc agriculture student abducted and murdered in Sultanpur

Sultanpur, Dec 7: A 24-year-old BSc Agriculture student, Aman Yadav, was abducted and brutally murdered on Saturday evening in Sultanpur district. His body was found near Ibrahimpur ghat of the Gomti River, around 18 km from the crime location.

Aman, a resident of Saadhapur village under Chanda police station limits, was allegedly attacked over a suspected illicit relationship dispute, though police have not officially confirmed the motive.

Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh said initial investigation indicates a personal dispute behind the incident. The body has been sent for post-mortem and further action is underway.

CCTV reportedly captured several men dragging Aman into a car after assaulting him and vandalising and setting fire to a nearby hair salon. The attack took place in the Ishipur-Arjo area around 7:45 pm. His motorcycle was later found abandoned, while bloodstains were located at the Parasnath Inter College ground in Safipur.

Police have named 10 accused: Mayank Yadav, Ajay Yadav, Vijay Yadav, Pawan Yadav, Ajay Gupta, Deepak Yadav, Shivam Yadav, Durgesh alias Kartik, Samar Yadav alias Gore, and Durgesh’s wife Renu. Mayank and Shivam have been arrested, while Renu is in custody for questioning.

Aman was the only son of his family, survived by his parents and younger sister Khushi, who is currently studying in intermediate. His father works at a dairy in Delhi. The incident has triggered shock and anger in the region as police continue their investigation.
