Hyderabad, Dec 8: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) received bomb threat emails on Sunday night targeting three incoming flights, including two international services, airport sources confirmed.

The threats were issued against British Airways flight BA 277 from Heathrow, Lufthansa’s LH 752 from Frankfurt, and IndiGo flight 6E 7178 arriving from Kannur. All three flights landed safely, officials said. The two international flights touched down in the early hours of Monday.

Following protocol, authorities immediately activated full security procedures. “Standard safety protocols were initiated for all three aircraft,” sources said.

These measures included isolating the aircraft, conducting thorough baggage and passenger screening, deploying sniffer dogs, and keeping fire tenders on standby.

This marks the latest in a series of similar incidents at RGIA. Last week, the airport received bomb threat emails targeting multiple flights, including the Dubai–Hyderabad Emirates service, and IndiGo flights from Madina–Hyderabad and Sharjah–Hyderabad. The Madina–Hyderabad flight had to be diverted to Ahmedabad.

Investigations are underway to trace the origin of the latest threat emails.
