Jaipur, Dec 15: Jaipur Polo capped off a stellar campaign by lifting the Gwalior Cup after a composed 6.5–3 triumph over Mayfair Polo in the final, reinforcing its dominance this season. The victory marked Jaipur’s sixth tournament win, a testament to the team’s consistency, tactical discipline and depth of talent.

From the outset, Jaipur Polo asserted control, capitalising on their handicap edge and aggressive intent to race to a 2.5–0 lead in the opening chukker. Lance Watson was in fine form, slicing through the defence with assured runs, while HH Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh of Jaipur orchestrated play from midfield, ensuring Mayfair Polo struggled to gain momentum.

Mayfair Polo showed signs of resistance in the second chukker, with Siddhant Sharma opening their scoring. However, Jaipur’s defence remained compact and patient, managing possession smartly to head into the break with a 2.5–1 advantage.

The third chukker proved decisive as Jaipur tightened its grip on the contest. Watson continued his scoring spree, aided by a crucial contribution from Dino Dhankar, pushing the lead to 4.5–1. Jaipur controlled the tempo, neutralising Mayfair’s attacking attempts and dictating the flow of play.

With this latest success, Jaipur Polo continues its remarkable run, reaffirming its status as one of the standout teams of the season and carrying forward a proud legacy rooted in Jaipur’s royal polo tradition.
