During verification, hospital authorities found that she did not possess any valid identification or travel documents. The matter was immediately reported to the Brahmavar police station.

Following this, the Brahmavar police sub-inspector visited the location and conducted an inquiry. During the inspection, six adults — identified as Reepak Damai (28), Sunita Damai (27), Urmila (19), Kailash Damai (18), Kapil Damai (19), and Sunita Damai (21) — along with three minor children were found illegally staying at Kuradi Sankamma Thayi Resort in Hanehalli village.

Police stated that none of the individuals possessed Indian citizenship or valid documents such as passports, visas, identity cards or birth certificates. The group was also unable to clearly state their country of origin, raising suspicion that they had entered India illegally.

A case has been registered at the Brahmavar police station, and further investigation is underway.

The resort belongs to Prithviraj Shetty Billady, who also holds the position of BJP Youth Morcha president.

Udupi superintendent of police Hariram Shankar stated that all resort and lodge owners are mandatorily required to obtain the C Form from foreign nationals of any country staying at their establishments and inform the district police office without fail. In the event that any foreign national arrives without proper or valid documents, the local police station and the district police office must be informed immediately. Since the illegal stay of foreign nationals in the country poses a serious threat to internal security, it is essential to share such information with the police.

Appointing persons without valid identity or documentation to work in resorts or lodges constitutes an offence, and legal action will be initiated against the owners of such establishments. Further, cases will be registered against the managers and owners of resorts or lodges that permit or facilitate any illegal or unlawful activities on their premises. Therefore, all resorts and lodges in the district are strictly instructed not to allow any form of immoral or illegal activities within their establishments, he added.
