SKY Dammam celebrates 26th Annual Day with cultural fervour and festive spirit

Dammam, Dec 21: The 26th annual day celebration of Saudi Konkan Youngsters (SKY) was a vibrant and joyful gathering, filled with spirituality, cultural expression, and a strong bondage of unity.

As the bell rang, the celebration transitioned into a spectacular evening programme, hosted by Benedicta D’Souza. Her electrifying stage presence, humour, and audience engagement kept the crowd energised from the start of the programme till the finishing note.

The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the SKY - Excom members. A solemn prayer was led by Stema Tauro. To add to the solemnity a graceful prayer dance was performed by Carol Mendonsa. The festive mood was enlightened and uplifted by the melodious carol singing by the community children who were trained and led by Benedicta D’Souza.

The SKY president, Alwyn Fernandes welcomed the august gathering. Felicitation of the programme sponsors and academic excellence award was given away by the president.

A brief account of the activities conducted throughout 2025 was presented by the treasurer Anil Tauro.

The gathering was kept engaged by featuring 20 colourful and entertaining cultural performances, inclusive of dance, songs and skits from participants of all ages, not only showcasing the community’s rich talent, but also, by participating in the interesting spot games conducted by the master of ceremony (MC) for the day.

The Kuswar (Christmas goodies) Auction was one of the most attractive and exciting highlights of the event, drawing joyful participation and enthusiastic bidding from the audience.

Delicious snacks and dinner were served, adding to the warmth and hospitality of the event.

Steven Rodrigues, vice president - SKY delivered the vote of thanks, expressing valued appreciation to all the performers, choreographers, organizers, volunteers, and especially the attendees for their participation and efforts.

The exciting evening ended on a high note, filled with festive cheer, joy, and cherished memories.
