Mangaluru: MDMA sale - Ullal police take one into custody, two peddlers flee

Mangaluru, Dec 23: Ullal police took into custody a 22-year-old man allegedly involved in the sale of MDMA crystals at a public place near the Falah School bus stop on K C Road in Talapady village on Monday. The accused has been identified as Sheikh Mohammad Kaif (22), a resident of Uppala, Manjeshwar in Kerala. Two other alleged drug peddlers managed to flee from the spot.

From the possession of Mohammad Kaif, the police seized 11 grams of banned MDMA crystal valued at Rs 55,000, one weighing scale used for the offence, Rs 500 in cash, and one mobile phone.

The two other drug peddlers present at the scene, identified as Shameer Kamble and Javeed, escaped on a motorcycle during the police raid.

Police said Mohammad Kaif, along with Shameer Kamble and Javeed from Uppala, was allegedly supplying MDMA crystals to known customers at the public place near Falah School on KC Road to fund a lavish lifestyle. Acting on credible information, Ullal police conducted a raid at the spot, during which Shameer Kamble and Javeed fled on a bike.

Sheikh Mohammad Kaif was taken into custody and later produced before a court.
