Israeli raids in West Bank leave scores injured

Daijiworld Media Network - Ramallah

Ramallah, Dec 24: Israeli forces injured dozens of people, took over residential homes and carried out mass arrests during a series of raids across the occupied West Bank, triggering fresh tension in the region.

According to local sources, the raids involved heavy deployment of troops who stormed several towns and neighbourhoods, forcing residents out of their homes and using them as military positions. Clashes broke out as residents protested the operations, leading to multiple injuries.

Journalists covering the crackdown were also targeted, with Israeli forces firing tear gas at media personnel, including reporters from Al Jazeera. Press groups condemned the action, saying it endangered journalists carrying out their professional duties.

The raids come amid heightened military activity in the West Bank following the ongoing conflict in Gaza, with Palestinian officials warning that the operations are further inflaming an already volatile situation.
