Patna, Dec 25: In a significant anti-narcotics operation, Patna police have uncovered a drug trafficking network operating under the cover of a tea shop in Maner, Bihar.
Acting on a tip-off, police raided the tea shop owner’s residence Wednesday evening, seizing a large quantity of drugs, cash, weapons, and valuables. Patna SSP Kartikeya S. Sharma said the family had been running the illegal drug business for years.

Authorities recovered 545 grams of smack, 558 grams of charas, a country-made pistol with three cartridges and a magazine, and Rs 12.16 lakh in cash. Additional seizures included liquor, 413 grams of silver, 24 grams of gold jewellery, and several vehicles. The family was reportedly using drug proceeds to construct a new house.
The network reportedly had cross-border links with Nepal, sourcing narcotics and distributing them in small packets across Patna and Maner. Police said women in the household were also involved in packaging and distribution and are currently being questioned.
So far, six male family members, including Shivam and Piyush, have been arrested. Authorities are pursuing other network members and suppliers in different states.
SSP Sharma stressed that the police are determined to dismantle the entire narcotics network and will take strict action against all involved.
