New Delhi, Dec 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the government’s reform trajectory will continue with greater vigour in the coming times, reiterating its commitment to enhancing ‘Ease of Living’ for citizens.
Reacting to a series of posts by the central government highlighting key reform initiatives, the Prime Minister said the true test of reforms lies in whether they reduce stress for people. Using the hashtags #ReformInAction and #GoodGovernance, the government noted that 2025 marked a decisive shift towards outcome-driven governance, with simpler tax laws, faster dispute resolution, modern labour codes and decriminalised compliance easing the burden on citizens and businesses.

The posts highlighted that tax relief has become tangible for millions, with incomes up to Rs 12 lakh attracting zero tax, allowing middle-class families greater financial flexibility. The Income Tax Act, 2025 was described as more transparent, fair and taxpayer-friendly, aligned with present-day needs.
Reforms have also enabled MSMEs to grow without losing benefits, with higher investment and turnover limits encouraging expansion, employment generation and stronger local enterprises. In rural areas, employment initiatives are now focused on creating durable assets alongside wages, strengthening village infrastructure and livelihoods.
Labour reforms were cited as another major step, with 29 laws consolidated into four simplified labour codes covering wages, safety, social security and industrial relations, improving clarity and compliance while enhancing protections, especially for women.
The government further said GST reforms have simplified processes through streamlined slabs, easier registration and faster refunds, boosting ease of doing business. This, it said, was reflected in record festive sales, including Rs 6.05 trillion during Diwali.
Additional reforms such as rationalised Quality Control Orders and an expanded definition of small companies have reduced compliance costs and enabled businesses with turnovers up to Rs 100 crore to focus on innovation, expansion and global competitiveness.
