Mangaluru: Man arrested after evading arrest for five years, produced in court

Mangaluru, Jan 6: A 31-year-old man, wanted in connection with SC Number 23/2020 of the Principal District and Sessions Court and Kavoor police station case number 45/2015 under Section 398 of the IPC, has been apprehended and produced before the court after evading arrest for nearly five years.

The accused, Navaman, son of Hasan Vas Amina Manzil, residing near Kileria Masjid, Kasba Bengre, Mangaluru, had repeatedly ignored multiple court warrants issued against him.

Acting on reliable intelligence that he was in Kaikamba, Uppala in Kerala, Kavoor police officers, under the guidance of inspector Raghavendra Byndoor and sub-inspector Mallikarjun Biradar, tracked and arrested the fugitive.

The operation was carried out by H C Balakrishna, assisted by CPC officers Chandra Shekhar and Raghavendra H M, who successfully brought him to Mangaluru.

Speaking on the arrest, a police official said, “After receiving confirmed information about the accused's location, our team acted swiftly to apprehend him and ensure he was produced before the court without delay.”

The court has now placed Navaman under judicial custody, bringing an end to his five-year evasion and a long-standing case.
