New Delhi, Jan 7: In a significant law enforcement achievement, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), in coordination with the Ministries of External Affairs (MEA) and Home Affairs (MHA), has successfully repatriated a high-profile member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang from the United States.

The fugitive, identified as Aman—also known as Aman Kumar or Aman Bhainswal—was deported from the US and arrived in India on Wednesday, January 7, according to an official CBI statement. Upon landing at Delhi airport, he was immediately taken into custody by Haryana Police.

Aman is a key operative of the notorious Bishnoi organised crime syndicate and faces multiple serious charges in Haryana, including murder, rioting, and criminal conspiracy. He had previously been arrested in India but was granted bail and subsequently absconded, prompting the Haryana Police to seek international assistance through the CBI.

The CBI, acting as India’s National Central Bureau (NCB) for Interpol, secured a Red Notice against Aman, which helped trace his location in the United States. Following intelligence coordination and international cooperation, he was deported back to India.

The agency noted that Interpol Red Notices facilitate global tracking of fugitives wanted for serious crimes, and India has successfully used this mechanism to bring back over 150 criminals in recent years. The operation underscores India’s intensified efforts to tackle transnational crime networks and ensure that fugitives face justice at home.
