Vadodara, Jan 11: India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series after sustaining an injury during a practice session, the BCCI confirmed on Saturday.
Pant experienced sudden discomfort in the right lateral abdominal region while batting in the nets at the BCA Stadium here on Saturday afternoon. He was immediately taken for MRI scans, following which the BCCI medical team held detailed consultations with a medical expert based on his clinical and radiological reports.

The scans revealed a side strain (oblique muscle tear), resulting in Pant being ruled out of the remainder of the ODI series.
The Men’s Selection Committee has named Dhruv Jurel as Pant’s replacement in the squad. Jurel has already joined the Indian team.
India’s updated ODI squad:
Shubman Gill (Captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (Wicketkeeper), Shreyas Iyer (Vice-Captain), Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, Prasidh Krishna, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Arshdeep Singh, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel (Wicketkeeper).
