New Delhi, Jan 11: A purported audio message attributed to Masood Azhar, the chief of the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), surfaced online on Sunday, triggering widespread outrage and alarm across social media platforms.
In the audio clip, whose authenticity and date could not be independently verified, the UN-designated terrorist is allegedly heard issuing a chilling threat against India. Azhar claims that thousands of suicide attackers are on standby and prepared to infiltrate and carry out terror strikes across the country.

The voice in the recording boasts that the actual number of trained bombers far exceeds what is publicly known and suggests that revealing the full figure would shock the international community. “These suicide bombers are not one, not two, not a hundred, not even a thousand. If I reveal the real number, the world’s media will erupt tomorrow,” the speaker claims in Hindi.
The audio further suggests that the group’s cadres are not motivated by material gains and are ready to sacrifice their lives, framing acts of terror as “martyrdom.”
Masood Azhar, who has been operating from Pakistani soil for years, has repeatedly issued threats against India and is accused of orchestrating several major terror attacks, including the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Security experts view the resurfacing of such audio as a propaganda tactic aimed at reviving JeM’s relevance, especially after the group reportedly suffered significant setbacks at the hands of Indian security forces during recent counter-terror operations.
Authorities have not yet commented on the clip, but officials say such threats are closely monitored and treated as part of ongoing efforts by terror outfits to spread fear and misinformation.
