Mangaluru: 724 grams of MDMA seized in two cases; six arrested in Mulki, Surathkal

Mangaluru, Jan 12: Police have seized a total of 724 grams of the synthetic drug MDMA and arrested six persons in two separate cases registered at Mulki and Surathkal police stations.

In the first case, registered at Mulki police station (Crime No 124/2025 dated December 6, 2025), police arrested four accused and seized 524 grams of MDMA from their possession. The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Shiyab alias Shiyab (22), son of Mohammad Rafiq, a resident of Chatin Kere, Maski, Navunda gram, Kundapur, Byndoor taluk, Udupi district; Mohammad Naushad alias Naushad (29), son of Mohammad, a resident of Kallara Kodi, Naringana gram, Ullal taluk; Imran alias Imbu (27), son of late Hussain, a resident of MJM 960, Kasaba Bengre, near Kileria Masjid, Bengre, Mangaluru; and Nisar Ahmed (36), son of late MH Mohammad, a resident of AK Residency, Ramal Katte, near Bantara Bhavana, Brahmarakotlu, Bantwal taluk.

In a second case registered at Surathkal police station (Crime No 171/2025), two persons were arrested and 200 grams of MDMA was seized. The accused are Mohammad Iqbal (30), son of Bashir, a resident of Door No 2-376(3), SMS Manzil, near Mallar panchayat, Achalu, Majuru, Kapu post, Udupi district, and Sheharaj Sharook (25), son of Abubacker, a resident behind the government primary school, Kanchinadaka, Padubidre, Udupi district.

Police said both cases are being investigated further to trace the source of the narcotic drugs and identify other persons involved in the supply network.
