Panaji, Jan 13: In a heart-warming incident from Goa, a local woman rider emerged as an unexpected saviour for a foreign tourist who found herself lost and terrified late at night after Google Maps failed to function.
The incident, which occurred around 10 pm, came to light after a video showing the act of kindness went viral on social media. According to posts accompanying the clip, the tourist was alone in the dark with no help in sight when a Rapido rider, identified as Sindhu Kumari, noticed her distress and stopped to assist.

In the video, Sindhu is seen calmly reassuring the visibly shaken tourist, telling her that she was safe. She later explains how she came across the stranded woman and decided to help without hesitation. Sindhu then safely dropped the tourist at Hotel Coconut and even asked her to call if she faced any further trouble, before bidding her goodbye.
“10 PM, foreign woman lost & terrified — Google Maps failed. No one around… until Rapido rider Sindhu Kumari stopped, calmed her and safely dropped her to Hotel Coconut,” read one widely shared post.
The video drew widespread praise from netizens, who lauded Sindhu’s courage and compassion. “Salute to Sindhu Kumari! Her presence of mind, kindness and courage turned a potential crisis into a story of hope,” commented one user. Another wrote, “When apps fail, humanity steps up. She didn’t just give a ride — she gave safety, dignity and trust.”
