New Delhi, Jan 13: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to take a key step towards electing its next national president, with the internal poll process expected to be completed within a week, marking the end of incumbent president JP Nadda’s tenure.
Sources said Nitin Nabin is likely to file his nomination for the BJP national president’s election on January 19. The party is expected to formally announce its new national president on January 20.

A crucial organisational meeting to finalise the schedule and logistical arrangements for the election is currently underway and is being chaired by Nadda. The meeting underscores the party’s focus on ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated internal electoral process in line with established organisational protocols.
Senior leaders attending the meeting include Nitin Nabin, National General Secretary (Organisation) BL Santosh, and BJP General Secretaries Sunil Bansal, Arun Singh and Tarun Chugh. Discussions are focused on nomination procedures, scrutiny and the final declaration of results.
With the nomination slated for January 19 and the outcome expected the following day, the BJP appears set to complete the leadership transition swiftly, highlighting its emphasis on organisational discipline and continuity ahead of upcoming political challenges.
